Corporate yachting in Santorini.

Santorini is the most recognisable volcanic backdrop in the world and one of the most demanding corporate locations in our portfolio. The main challenge is that the island's only marina, Vlychada, has very limited capacity, so flotillas pick up mooring buoys or anchor inside the flooded caldera, which reaches depths of up to 400 metres.

We recommend Santorini as a 2 to 3-day climax to a week-long sailing offsite starting from Athens or Mykonos. It delivers an unmatched closing visual: dinner on the yacht in the caldera against the white villages of Oia and Fira, a swim in the thermal springs near the volcanic islet of Nea Kameni, and a tour of the ruins of Akrotiri (the Minoan Pompeii, buried under ash around 1600 BC).

JTR airport is 25 minutes from Vlychada, with direct flights from 35-plus European cities in high season. Because of the island's geographic isolation and the marina's limits, the baseline range of €650 to €950 per person per night is the highest in Greece after Mykonos. Programmes here are for VVIP incentives, exclusive client events and premium board offsites.

What makes it different

Why Santorini

Three facts our routes are built on. Every data point is verified and drawn from our validated destinations dataset.

  • 01

The main sailing zone is the flooded volcanic caldera with depths of up to 400 metres, which makes anchoring impossible outside designated zones.

  • 02

Vlychada — the island's only full marina — has very limited capacity, so flotillas mainly use mooring buoys or anchorages.

  • 03

Routes often include a swim in the thermal springs near the volcanic islet of Nea Kameni inside the caldera.

Client event

Entering the caldera under sail is one of the most dramatic navigational events in the Mediterranean. The 300-plus-metre volcano walls, the white villages on the rim, and the effect of full shelter from the wind after the open Aegean — it is an operationally demanding moment that needs a skipper with at least 50 caldera approaches. We work with three such skippers in our partner portfolio.

The gastronomy programme on Santorini combines wine tastings (Santo Wines, Domaine Sigalas, Estate Argyros — the three leading Assyrtiko wineries) with Michelin kitchens in Oia and Imerovigli (Selene, Mystique by Rocco Forte). For VVIP programmes we arrange private tasting lunches at the wineries with a chef for 20 to 30 people.

From the field

What clients say.

Three quotes from closed corporate programmes over the last two seasons. Names and companies withheld under NDA.

Entering the caldera under sail at sunset was, without exaggeration, the best corporate moment of my career. The board recalls that evening every six months.

CEO

Private equity, 15 partners, September 2024

A private tasting at Domaine Sigalas with lunch for 25 is simply a different level of incentive. The only comparison is a programme in Burgundy or Tuscany.

VP HR

Luxury brand, 25 top performers, May 2025

Santorini is demanding logistically, but with the budget and the time for proper preparation it delivers an unusually high impact on retention and repeat business.

FAQ

What buyers ask us most.

Eight questions we receive every week from HR directors and CEOs. Not finding yours? Drop us a line — we reply within 24 hours.

Can we berth a flotilla at Vlychada?
Only a small one — up to 4 to 5 yachts. Vlychada has limited capacity; the rest of the fleet picks up mooring buoys or anchors in the caldera. Depths of up to 400 metres make anchoring possible only in designated zones with dive blocks. We plan the programme 9 to 12 months ahead.
Why arrive under sail when you could fly?
Entering the caldera under sail is a rare navigational experience. Corporate clients who fly in see the island "top down"; those who arrive under sail see it "bottom up", from inside the volcano. It gives a completely different emotional effect and hero visual.
How much does a programme on Santorini cost?
From €650 per person per night, with an actual average bill of €800 to €1,100. It is the most expensive location in our Greek portfolio after Mykonos, driven by the cost of caldera buoys, the berthing limits and the general service level. The minimum is 10 participants and 2 nights.
Which wineries should we include?
Santo Wines is the largest, convenient for groups of up to 60. Domaine Sigalas is premium, up to 30 people, with the best Assyrtiko. Estate Argyros has the oldest vineyards (1903) and an exclusive programme for 12 to 20 people. Tasting lunches run from €120 to €280 per person.
When is the best time for Santorini?
May, June, September and October. July and August are overcrowded with tourists, prices peak and the programme loses its exclusivity. September is ideal for the balance of weather, prices and winery availability after the grape harvest.
