Corporate yachting in Portofino.

Portofino is the most recognisable harbour on the Ligurian Riviera and one of the most exclusive corporate backdrops. The main constraint is that the legendary Portofino harbour has just 14 berths, most of them booked a season ahead by private yachts. Our corporate base is therefore Marina di Genova (20 minutes from Portofino), from which we run day trips to the legendary harbour and the Cinque Terre.

GOA airport in Genoa is 20 minutes from Marina di Genova — the most convenient logistics among the Italian bases in our portfolio, with direct flights from 25-plus European cities. For VVIP programmes we also use a helicopter shuttle from Milan (a 45-minute flight) with a pad next to the marina. The baseline range is €650 to €950 per person per night.

The main sailing value is the Portofino Marine Protected Area, with strictly regulated zones. It holds one of the rarest anchorages in the Mediterranean — a berth before the medieval San Fruttuoso abbey, reachable only by sea or by walking trails. An approach to San Fruttuoso under sail with lunch in the sheltered bay is one of the most emotional moments of a corporate programme.

What makes it different

Why Portofino

Three facts our routes are built on. Every data point is verified and drawn from our validated destinations dataset.

  • 01

The famous Portofino harbour has only 14 berths; corporate flotillas base in the large modern Marina di Genova, using Portofino as a day-trip point.

  • 02

The sailing area is dominated by the Portofino Marine Protected Area, with strictly regulated zones to protect its rich biodiversity.

  • 03

A popular anchorage is before the medieval San Fruttuoso abbey, a unique location reachable only by sea or by walking trails.

Client event

The gastronomy programme in Portofino means iconic venues available only with a booking four to six months ahead. Hotel Splendido (Belmond), Da Puny (a legendary seafront restaurant), Ristorante Puny (90-plus years in the same family). For VVIP programmes we arrange private dinners in the villas of Portofino or Santa Margherita Ligure with a chef and sommelier for 20 to 30 people.

The Cinque Terre — five UNESCO fishing villages north-west of Portofino — gives an unexpected counterpoint to the glamour of the Italian Riviera. Each village (Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, Riomaggiore) is technically unreachable by road, only by sea or by rail. A corporate programme with a call at Vernazza or Monterosso delivers a strong visual and emotional asset.

From the field

What clients say.

Three quotes from closed corporate programmes over the last two seasons. Names and companies withheld under NDA.

The approach to San Fruttuoso under sail with lunch at the abbey is an emotional moment that shifted the tone of the whole programme. The board recalls that evening at every quarterly meeting.

A Hotel Splendido dinner for 25 partners is a level of luxury comparable only with the best incentives in St Barts or Biarritz. Without a sailing programme that door does not open.

The Cinque Terre with a call at Vernazza is the hero visual of the annual report. The drone footage went into the LinkedIn campaign and became the most popular post of the quarter.

FAQ

What buyers ask us most.

Eight questions we receive every week from HR directors and CEOs. Not finding yours? Drop us a line — we reply within 24 hours.

Can we berth in Portofino itself?
Only with a booking 12 months ahead and for yachts up to 30 metres. Porto di Portofino has 14 berths, most booked a season in advance. The standard scenario is a flotilla at Marina di Genova (20 minutes), with a day trip into Portofino at anchor and a tender ashore.
What is special about San Fruttuoso?
A medieval 11th-century Benedictine abbey in a sheltered bay, reachable only by sea or by walking trails. Anchoring is allowed before the abbey with ecological limits. Lunch at the abbey restaurant is €80 to €120 per person, booked three months ahead — an exclusive location in our portfolio.
How much does a programme in Portofino cost?
From €650 per person per night, with an actual average bill of €800 to €1,000. It is more expensive than Amalfi for the cost of berths in Liguria and the general service level in Portofino. It includes the yacht, crew, marina fees at Marina di Genova, basic catering and insurance.
Is it suitable for large groups?
Up to 30 participants, yes. Marina di Genova takes large flotillas with no trouble, but Portofino as a day trip is limited to 14 berths. A standard programme is 5 to 6 yachts (35 to 40 people) split into parallel day trips to the Cinque Terre and Portofino.
When is the best time?
May, June and September. July and August are the peak with crowded Portofino and Cinque Terre. In August many Italian providers close for Ferragosto. September gives the best balance of weather, prices and the availability of the legendary restaurants.
