Porto Cervo is the epicentre of Mediterranean superyacht culture and the home club of the YCCS — the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, organiser of the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, the most prestigious superyacht regatta in the world. Marina di Porto Cervo, designed in 1962 for the Aga Khan, is the most expensive marina in the Mediterranean (a 25-metre yacht berth runs €1,500 to €3,000 a night at the season peak).

What is special about the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup?
It is the most prestigious superyacht regatta in the world, held in the first week of September. A corporate branded programme during the Cup is the most exclusive asset we offer. Booking needs at least 12 months, prices are 200 to 300 % above the baseline, and access to private dinners runs only through local connections.
Can we visit La Maddalena?
Yes, by special national park permit. We request the permit three months ahead; the programme includes an extra fee of €40 per yacht per day. Anchoring is allowed only in designated zones with electronic moorings. The limit is 20 yachts at once in the archipelago.
How much does a programme in Porto Cervo cost?
From €750 per person per night, with an actual average bill of €1,000 to €1,500. It is the most expensive location in our portfolio, driven by the cost of berthing at Marina di Porto Cervo (€1,500 to €3,000 a night), the general service level and the exclusivity of the social context.
Is it suitable for large groups?
Up to 40 participants, yes. Marina di Porto Cervo takes a flotilla of up to 8 yachts. For larger groups we use additional berths at Marina di Cala Bitta and Marina di Olbia. Programmes of 50-plus are rare given the overall volume of the region's luxury infrastructure.
What is the language of service?
English at level 4 to 5 of 5 is standard in the Costa Smeralda — it is an international region. Italian is native; French and German are common. Many YCCS staff speak three or four languages, making the Costa Smeralda one of the most multilingual locations in our portfolio.
